Stephen Tropp received his BA from the University of California at Berkley and his Juris Doctorate in 1985 from the University of the Pacific (McGeorge School of Law) graduating "Order of the Coif".
Immediately after graduation Steve worked for the NY firm of Shea & Gould ultimately becoming a partner in the Los Angeles office.
The focus of his practice has been Entertainment Law where he was a partner at the prestigious entertainment firm of Manatt, Phelps, & Phillips and Chair of the Intellectual Property Department. During Steve's many years there he represented Warner Bros., Miramax, Capitol Records, House of Blues, and numerous Production Companies, writers, actors, and directors.
In 2000 he became an associate Professor of law teaching Entertainment, Sports law, Antitrust, Copyright, and Trademark.
Steve is the author of numerous articles in the Copyright and Entertainment area as well as several textbooks on Copyright, Entertainment Law, and The Right of Publicity. He is completing his thesis for an SJD at the University of Cambridge.
Upon moving to Israel in the fall of 2008, Steve is now a consultant to Naomi Assia in the area of Entertainment and Media Law. He is a member in good standing of the California Bar and admitted to practice in 15 District Courts, all Federal Appellate Courts and the US Supreme Court.
